hello software package provides example package based on GNU hello, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install hello
hello is installed in your system.
Make ensure the hello package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep hello *
You will get with hello package name, version, architecture and description in a table
